About

Jari Ala-Ruona is a serial entrepreneur and technology strategist with 30 years of experience leading computing paradigm shifts, scaling software ventures, and executing several business exits. He is doctoral researcher at the University of Turku focusing on ethical entrepreneurship, AI systems and energy transition. His work at AICRIT on critical thinking AI frames its future as neuro-symbolic with data authority and governance as human collective judgment rather than centralized monopolies. He co-leads the 'Steering Technological Change' initiative at the International Panel on Social Progress and is co-founder of Oxygen 2050 high-impact network. His central work contributes toward resilient, sovereign AI based on frugal, software-defined compute governance to eliminate energy waste in AI and build sustainable compute architectures.
