James Kingstone is Director of DAO SPV at CDOT, where he works on the legal, policy and institutional structures needed for decentralised autonomous organisations and digital assets to operate responsibly. A lawyer by background, he brings a practical understanding of regulation, contractual design, accountability and how these frameworks need to adapt as AI and autonomous systems take on a greater role in business and public life.
At CDOT, James leads strategic work around decentralised organisations, digital asset management and innovation in the digital economy. His work is grounded in a belief that emerging technology should support open markets, individual liberty and durable institutions rather than concentrate power without accountability.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to economics and public-policy debates through leadership roles in think tanks and research organisations. He has helped develop market-led approaches to contemporary policy challenges and has written and spoken on the future of decentralised finance, digital economies and the governance of new technologies.
James is also a member of the HumanAIx Policy Committee, contributing to work on AI governance, decentralised infrastructure and responsible technology deployment. At DeAI Summit, he will bring a legal and policy perspective to Autonomous Systems — Control, Safety and Human Accountability, examining where responsibility sits when an AI system acts on behalf of an individual or organisation, and where human judgment must remain.
