Founded in the 2020s, the organization serves as a pivotal conduit for promoting and coordinating research and innovation (R&I) initiatives across the nation. Key Services
Xjenza Malta operates through several specialized units, each focused on distinct aspects of research and innovation. The Policy & Strategy Unit spearheads the development and implementation of the National R&I Strategy, while also supporting Malta’s Smart Specialisation Strategy. The Research & Innovation Unit manages crucial funding streams under the National R&I Strategic Plan 2023–2027, including Fusion, thematic programs, and the Research Networking Scheme. These efforts ensure that strategic objectives align with national priorities and encourage robust scientific exploration.
